When making illuminated signs, we use a long lasting and energy efficient LED light called RGB lights. RGB, or red-green-blue lights, produce more than 16 million hues of light. With these three colors you have the option to combine different intensities of each color to create a multitude of colors. For example, to produce purely blue light, you’d set the blue LED to the highest intensity and the green and red LEDs to the lowest intensity. For a white light, you’d set all three LEDs to the highest intensity.
While there are some colors that fall outside of this triangle, their combination allows us to create a number of different colors allowing for your company to have a unique look. We place these colors very close in proximity to each other so that you will only see the color combination rather than the three individual colors.
What we love about illuminated signage is that they’re pretty low maintenance. You may be worried about burnt out bulbs or a portion of your signs lighting system going out but the great part about LEDs is they have an impressive lifespan and are cheap to maintain. You will be impressed to hear that LED’s have a typical 50,000 hour, roughly 5 year full-time, lifespan on their bulbs.
